{HISTORY}

One of the 20th century's most prolific American designers, New Jersey-born Ben Seibel (1918-1985) made an art out of creating fresh, innovative, and artistic pieces for midcentury home interiors. From furniture to flatware, Ben lent a creative and modern approach to everyday items turning them into artistic pieces still much admired in the design world today.

This creamer was designed by Ben in the late 1950s for the Harvest Time pattern made by Iroquois China. Featuring grey, pumpkin and rust-colored autumn leaves, a long handle and a jaunty pour spout, this server was part of Seibel's Informal series. Promoted as chip-free and crack-free, Iroquois China, in addition to offering aesthetically pleasing contemporary designs, also offered free replacements for any broken dishes within the first three years of purchase. Starter sets of four-person place settings began at $21.95 and multiple add-on accessories including lazy susans made collecting fun and functional.
