Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, one of Homer Laughlin's most popular dish designs was the Georgian Eggshell. A body and a design style - not a pattern name - HL's Georgian Eggshell dishes came in complete sets featuring a variety of different patterns and colors. This pair is from an unknown pattern but it is very similar in color and floral arrangement to their popular Chateau pattern. Made in 1943, this pair feature a pastel turquoise rim and are embossed with a dotted and dashed edge, a gold filigree inner stripe and a bright center floral bouquet.

Bursting with an easter egg color palette, these two bowls contain shades of robins eggs blue, mint green, pale pink, pale tangerine, butter, and sky blue. The pastel turquoise rim on one bowl has faded into a more subtle shade giving it a lovely shabby chic aesthetic. when placed side by side next to the brighter rimmed bowl it creates quite a lovely and visually interesting table setting full of authentic charm that only time and love can create. 

Here in the Vintage Kitchen, we are especially impressed by how pretty these two looked with a variety of other floral dishes offering very carefree mix and match appeal and all sorts of easy-breezy decorating options.

- Each bowl is stamped on the bottom with the Homer Laughlin makers mark and date code K 43 N 5 and M 43 N 5 denoting that they were both made in 1943 but during different months of the year

{CONDITION}

In lovely vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks. The colors are bright and crisp.  Please note the color difference in the rim between each of the bowls - one is a brighter shade of turquoise while the other is more pale.
