Vintage Embroidered Wool Table Runner - Colorful Tulip Bouquets with Scalloped Crocheted Edge
Tulips, to me, always seem on the alert to enjoy life as much as they can and are not afraid of looking at the sun, or anything else above them, in the face. Elizabeth von Arnim
A stunner in the vintage linens department, this hand-embroidered table runner is just about the most colorful creation to hit the kitchen table. Stitched on soft, luxurious, bright white wool, it has a wonderfully graceful weight that allows it lo lie smoothly on a surface. Its crocheted edging all the way around, adds a touch of daintiness, and the two colorful bouquets on opposite ends add a festive array of colors that makes decorating a breeze.
Colors include violet, purple, lavender, mauve, berry, marigold, lemon yellow, brown, chocolate brown, butter yellow, celery green, lime green, orange, beige, sky blue and teal. Just perfect for spring and summer table settings, it is also an ideal match for Scandinavian style decorating and warm climates where bright colors are admired all year round. Since it is unsigned and undated, and since it is so classic in design, we can't pinpoint an exact date of manufacture but we'd estimate it was made somewhere between the 1950s and 1970s based on design and color choices.
