{HISTORY}

Handstitched in bright pink thread, this vintage cotton table runner features six embroidered lotus flowers and a pretty scalloped edge. A centuries old symbol of rebirth, lotus flowers are lovely and appropriate imagery for vintage kitchen linens signaling both a continuous life cycle and a sense of useful re-purposing. 

Originally, this cloth started out as a table runner, a task it is still totally able to perform, but tucked inside those neatly stitched threads is a boatload of versatility too. You might be inclined to use this for a  variety of other kitchen tasks, like dish drying, serving or food display or if you are of the crafty sort, perhaps you might transform it into a pillow for your window seat or a curtain for your cupboard.

{CONDITION}

In beautiful vintage condition, this runner is bright and colorful. There are no pulled threads, spots or stains. There are two very tiny pin prick holes where a hand tag was once attached. Both these holes are insignificant and do not detract from the overall beauty of the piece.
