Vintage Spice of Life Canning Jar - Made in France by ARC - 2 Litre Size Storage Container

The vintage Spice of Life pattern was made by the American company Corning but it its theme was based on French food and cooking. This pattern also, known as French Spice, contained a plethora of kitchen items that ran the gamut from from baking dishes to coffee pots, cheese boards to salt and pepper shakers. Arc a leading glass maker in France, made these clear canister style canning jars for The Spice of Life pattern during the 1970's. They came in a series of different sizes and had offered a variety of purposes whether you wanted to use them as dry goods storage, refrigerator containers or canning jars for homemade soups and sauces.
This jar is the 2 litre size (10 cups). Ideal for large canning projects or counter top dry goods storage, it is very accommodating for a plethora of kitchen needs.
- 1 litre size - holds 10 cups
- Jar markings include the Made in France mark located under the tomato and red pepper design as well as on the glass lid and the fill line (written in French) marked near the top of the base. There is also a 2L mark on the bottom of the jar denoting its 2 litre size.
- Includes original rubber seal

In lovely vintage condition. Bright crisp clear graphics. No chips or cracks. Rubber seal is dry due to age and chipped in sections so it will need to replaced if you plan on using this for food storage. The toggle hinge works great and is easy to open and close.
