{HISTORY}

When you are mixing things up in a vintage mixing bowl, so much more is happening then just tossing the ingredients around. You mix in your hopes that the recipe will turn out well. You fold in your creativity in the items you incorporate. You swirl around days, years, decades of past baking adventures by the people who have cherished this very bowl before you. 

This vintage mixing bowl came from California in the 1940s. Although unmarked as far as a manufacturer it is most likely made by Bauer, a popular pottery who marked their bowls with numbers according to size. This one is a #12. The style of the bowl - wide at the top and tapered at the bottom has been called beehive and also ringware. But we just like to call it pretty. With its classic, going with anything style and creamy complexion its an easy addition to your baking cabinet. Very light crazing adds an extra layer of history, reminding you of all the recipes that came before yours.

{CONDITION}

In lovely vintage condition with the lightest of crazing. No cracks or chips. Some discoloration on bottom of bowl, an incident that occurred in the initial firing process. Very shiny glaze.
