{HISTORY}

This assortment of vintage metal flower frogs is a delight when it comes to decorating with blooms, blossoms, paper ephemera, old photographs, and natural curiosities collected from the great outdoors. 

Two of these frogs were made by Casa Products Company of North Hollywood, CA a company that was in the floral trade business in the 1930s. They attended gardening shows, sold their products to the floral trade and teamed up with art studios to display and demonstrate the potential of a good flower frog in correlation with a pretty arrangement.

If you are new to flower frog collecting, these hefty all-metal stands can be tucked inside a vase to assist in flower arranging, as the metal teeth (or cage in one case) holds on to individual stems most securely. With that convenience,  you can fiddle around with a bouquet to your heart's content without worrying that each bloom will tipple over or sway to one side of the vase or the other.

These frogs also look pretty on their own, sans vase, holding onto to small mememtos of everyday life that become the spurce of inspiration... leaves, feathers, recipes, photographs, love notes, a fabric swatch or two, etc.

Popular since the Victorian era, flower frogs are one of those things you never truly understand the joy of until you use one and then you fall head over heels in love with their helpful personalities and never turn back. 

This batch of four is available piece by piece, depending on your needs. Two - the large round and the long rectangular ones -  were made by Casa Products of North Hollywood most likely around the 1930s-1950s. The small silver button-sized frog is very old, most likely dating to the early 1900s and the metal floral cage was most likely made around the 1950s. All are classics in shape and size but the long rectangular one is harder to find these days.

{CONDITION}

In lovely vintage condition. There are some minor rust spots and chippy paint as to be expected with age. Each frog is in very strong and sturdy shape and ready for decades more display in your home or garden.

The large round green metal frog (marked Casa Products No 3) measures 3.5" inches (diameter) x 1" inch (height)  and weighs 1lb

The green rectangular metal flower frog (marked Casa Products No. 9) measures 5" inches (length) x 1" inch (height) and weighs 10 oz.

The small round button gray metal flower frog measures 2.1" inches (diameter) x 1" inch (height) and weighs 6 oz

The round metal cage-style flower frog measures 3.5" inches (diameter) x 1.5" inches (height) and weighs 8 oz.
