{HISTORY}

All you need to throw a fun, relaxed, impromptu party for a few friends this Fall is just a good platter and some coordinating small plates like this vintage set. No fuss, no flatware no acres of dishes to do at the end of the night. Load the platter up with some hefty hors d'ouevres, pop open a bottle (or two!) of champagne, light some pretty candles and watch the good times roll out. Entertaining during this busy time of year doesn't need to be elaborate in order to be memorable - a few unique details and a tray full of finger foods are the perfect equation for a remarkable meal.

Marked with the USA stamp, this serving set was made in the United States (most likely California) sometime around midcentury with a nod towards the ritzy French aesthetic. It is very similar in style to the Homer Laughlin Golden Wheat pattern which featured colorful wheat yellow wheat stalks and gold fleur des Lis as well. This set differs slightly in that it contains all gold imagery which shimmers beautifully, especially in candlelight. 

While the plates are traditional salad size they can be used for a bevy of serving situations from apps to dessert. The medium sized platter is just as accommodating. Whether you are having some friends over for coffee and cookies, hosting cocktail night or enjoying a simple family dinner these five pieces will help make the soiree easy and festive.

{CONDITION}

In lovely vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks on any of the plates or the platter. The gold imagery on the wheat stalks of the platter and two of the plates bears some light rub marks. Please see photos.

The platter measures 11.75"inches x 9" inches. Each plate measures 7.25" inches in diameter. The whole set weighs just under 4lbs.
