Vintage Green and White Porcelain Creamer by Meito Japan circa 1921-1941
This vintage porcelain creamer with its vibrant green apple, gold, and white color palette was made in Japan by Meito China sometime between 1921 and 1941. Exquisite in color and design, Meito produced porcelain dishes that were often compared to the quality and design aesthetic produced by Noritake. That comparison came naturally, as the founder of Meito was a previous employee of Noritake, and assumed many of the techniques and design aesthetics with which he had become familiar during his time at Noritake.
A beauty from top to bottom, the fun thing about this creamer, besides its gorgeous color arrangement, is that it carries a handpainted floral basket bouquet pattern on one side but not on the other so it's almost like having two different creamers in one, depending on how you choose to display it. It also offers lots of possibilities in the mix and match department. A pretty companion next to other gold and white dishware and a colorful assemblage when matched with other vintage florals patterns that feature purple, red, yellow, blue or pink, this little creamer will fit in effortlessly with an array of vintage dishware.
