Vintage 1950s Golden Floral Bread Plates by Knowles - Set of Three
It'll set your table aglow with a charm and elegance you never dreamed possible... (from a 1957 advertisement for Knowles' Golden Floral pattern dinnerware)
{HISTORY)
If you are a fan of dramatic table settings, nothing sets the stage quite like shimmery gold filigree. It captures candlelight beautifully and looks especially glamorous with romantic low lighting.
Hailing from the 1950s, this vintage trio of gold and cream floral bread plates features the Golden Floral pattern made by Edwin Knowles & Co. from the late 1950s to the early 1960s.
With an elaborate lacy pattern around the rim and a large center bouquet, Golden Floral is nothing but decadent when it comes to details. It features seven different types of flowers, a menagerie of swirls and flourishes, and three distinct types of filigree design.
So pretty for accent pieces, we love to mix and match an array of vintage gold and white filigree patterns for unique tablescapes. Especially pretty during the holiday season amongst a backdrop of silver, gold and balsam decor and candles galore, they offer a classic color combination that complements dishware from a variety of decades.
