Love and care are ingredients as important as salt and pepper.  Margaret Williams, The Well-Fed Bridgegroom, 1957

{HISTORY}

In the 1950s, just after you recited your vows and kissed the lips of your new spouse, this is how you toasted to long love, long life and happy memories! When it comes to vintage glassware, you can't always be sure of the exact occasion in which they were a part of the merriment, but this pair tells all just in the wording near the rims - Bride and Groom. How fun!

Around here, we love a good champagne glass. These two with their squat stature and wide bowls are the cutest couple in the shop. Each glass is swagged with a bell garland adding an extra flourish of gaiety and a nod to jovial 1950s era weddings. That was a time when cakes were topped with little characters, crepe paper and organdy festooned the room, and satin and lace draped and decorated all the bridal party.

If you are a fan of the saying... Something borrowed, something blue, something old, something new... then these two partiers would be a festive choice for your something old. So cute for photo opportunities, bridal shower decorations and wedding reception style, these glasses contain all the joy of happy occasions.

{SPECIAL FEATURES}

- set of two

- bride and groom monogram with bell swags

- circa 1950s

{CONDITION}

In lovely condition. No chips or cracks. Lettering is clear and unmarked. There is a series of microbubbles on the inside rim of one portion of the bride's glass. At first glance, this looks like a scuff but when inspected very closely, you can see that it is air bubbles trapped inside the glass. This series of bubbles is about an inch long on the backside of the glass and is barely visible. Please see the photos.

{SIZE}

Each glass measures 4.5" inches (tall) x 3.5" inches (diameter)
