Vintage 1930s Crooskville Floral Bread Plates - Set of Five circa 1939
{HISTORY}
Despite being made during the decade that contained both the Great Depression and the start of WWII, dishware of the 1930s contains some of the prettiest patterns and the most vibrant and cheerful colors. This set of five floral bread plates made by Crooksville China Company in Crooksville, Ohio is no exception.
Featuring a dainty and colorful bouquet of tulips, forget-me-nots, roses, and wax flowers set against an ivory background with a rim edged in gold, these five add instant cheer to any table.
Colors include tangerine, grape, sky blue, butter, plum, spring green, pale pink, and pumpkin. And for a little extra flair, a subtle stitch style and dotted embossing can be found encircling both the outer and inner rim.
Crooksville, in operation from the early 1900s-1950s, this pattern may be unnamed, or at least not known at this time, but it's perfectly complementary to a variety of other vintage dishware patterns thanks to its colorful arrangement. Whether you are looking for accent pieces for your monochrome china or in the hunt for small plates to fill out your mismatched set, these five will be a bright and light addition to your table.
