{HISTORY}

Sometime between the years 1858 and 1934, this antique ironstone dish was made in East Liverpool, Ohio by the pottery Knowles, Taylor & Knowles, who made both hotelware and private collection pieces for home entertaining. Shaped like a large leaf with beautiful detailing and a slight bowl-lish curve, it most likely was intended for use as a relish dish - a rare treasure amongst prized KT & K ironstone. Strong and sturdy yet gracefully delicate, it's gorgeous in its simplicity, its bright color and its imagined escapades over the past 80-150 years. The size of a small head of cabbage, it now has many uses both on the table or incorporated into display reflecting the beauty of nature and the elegant artistry of antique dinnerware.
