{HISTORY}

In 1966, a food scientist engineer working at General Foods invented a non-dairy whipped food product that could be stored in the freezer for a long period of time. Two years later it was the runaway hit and bestselling item coming out of the frozen food sections of a zillion grocery stores across the U.S..The engineer's name was George Lorent. And the product he created was Cool-Whip.

Three years later in 1969, General Foods published this fun stand-up cookbook highlighting the unique possibilities of Cool-Whip when it came to creating signature desserts and drinks. Appealing to the young, mod, creative, free-spirited woman it contains a spiral-bound collection of recipes for desserts, holiday treats and winter drinks with jaunty conversational style directions and colorful illustrations and photography. When Cool-Whip was first introduced it was a pretty exciting addition to the convenience food market.
