{HISTORY}

Made in the historic Tirschenreuth Pottery in Germany in 1986, this beautifully detailed bird portrait plate was a collaboration between the World Wildlife Fund and German artist Ursala Band. Together, they created a series of decorative plates featuring a variety of European birds meant not for tableware but for wall display.

Beautifully executed and finely detailed, this portrait plate features a pair of Eurasian Golden Orioles. Known as shy birds, these winged wonders prefer to spend their days among the tree canopy, tucked behind leaves and branches. Easy to spot when flying through the air because of their bright plumage, these guys rarely make an appearance out on open ground, as they much prefer a more private lifestyle, hidden from view among their leafy perches. 

Thanks to Ursula and the WWF, we can enjoy their beauty anytime we wish with this splendid rendition of their unique markings and bright character. Containing an array of spring colors, these two feature shades of butter, spring green, olive, walnut, pea, sage, pumpkin and beige. A gold rim catches the light adding an extra bit of sparkle to this already sparkling pair.
