{HISTORY}

Made in England from the 1930s to the early 2000s, Johnson Brothers Rose Chintz pattern was a kitchen favorite for 80 years. It's no wonder. A big, billowy pink rose, surrounded by swirling blue wax flowers and petite pink blossoms makes this all-over pattern a feast of floral delights.

Handpainted between the 1930s and 1950s, each of these six bread plates is slightly different given the unique painting abilities of each artist.  

Ideally sized at 6.25" inches (bread and butter service) in diameter, they were originally intended as bread and butter plates,  but they are also handy for all sorts of other foods like salads, desserts, snacks, and appetizers too.

Fun and useful pieces for a mix-and-match table or for filling out your existing Rose Chintz collection, these plates feature a gorgeous color palette of spring green, pale pink, raspberry and blueberry. 

{SPECIAL FEATURES}

• Matching set of six plates
• Handpainted with decorator's marks included on back
• Four plates are stamped on back with the red Johnson Bros mark signaling that they were made between the 1930s-1950s. Two plates are stamped with the same mark but appear in black signaling that they were most likely made during the mid-20th century. 

{CONDITION}

In beautiful vintage condition,. these plates contain no chips or cracks. One plate contains noticeable crazing and light staining giving it a slightly darker, pale beige color. Please see photos.
